Do I need impact windows in Orlando?
Usually not. Orlando is in Orange County, inland and outside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone, and for standard housing it typically falls outside the wind-borne debris region, so the code does not require opening protection. There are exceptions: the ASCE 7-22 expansion pulled in areas near large lakes such as Lake Apopka, where a lakeside home may indeed need impact glazing. It is confirmed by address.

We would rather lose a sale than invent a requirement. In Orange, Seminole and Osceola most homes are not required to comply. The lake exception
The ASCE 7-22 revision expanded the wind-borne debris region inland near large bodies of water. In practice that can affect property on the shore of lakes like Apopka. It is not a rule you can eyeball: the address is checked against the map the municipality currently enforces.
